Major J. E. Duigan, who relinquished tho position of general staff officer, Auckland military district, to take command of the Tunnelling: Company of Engineers, was presented on Saturday with a silvor cigarette ease by tho clerical staff of tho Defence Office. Mr. David Smith, chief clerk, asked Maior Duigan to accept the gift as a email memento of the staff's association with him anil as'an indication nf their regard and esteem: The staff, said Mr. Smith, wished Major Duigan tontimied success in his career.
