By Telegraph—Press Association. Chrlstohuroh, December 18. ', The inter-schools fours final resulted' as under:-—Christ's College No. 1 beat Boys' High School by a length and a half. For third place Waitaki beat College No. 2 by two lengths and a half. The dance recital given by Miss Estelle Beere at Masterton on Friday evening, in aid of our wounded, was a great success, the Town Hall being crowded with an enthusiastic audience. The dancers' gave an exceedingly good performance' and met with a great reception. Miss Beere was called, before the curtain and received many 'handsome bouquets, and -Mr. Bodingt-on, secretary of . the; Patriotic Society in .Masterton, made a speech in. which he thanked Miss Beere and the performers. , His call for ,three cheers was heartily responded /to. The little company received the utmost kindness from Mr. and Mrs. Bennett and the Masterton ladies, and were entertained and taken round the country, and afterwards brought back to Wellington by. .motor-cars. Miss Beere expects that somewhere near £100 will be realised "by the recital. The; marriage was" quielly celebrated at St. Andrew's Churcli on Friday of Mr. .James Willoughby Rutherfurd, eldest soil of Mr. and Mrs. W. Rutherfurd, of PaJmerston, and Miss Leah Margaret M'Crea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs; J. A. M'Crea, also of Palmerston. Rev. A. Doull, M.A., was the officiating minister, and the bride was tended by Miss Vera Archer, as bridesmaid, Mr. J. C. M. Dunlop being best man. Subsequently a wedding breakattended by the relatives of the parties, was held at the residence of the bride's parents. The bridegroom, who.is a member of the legal firm of Messrs. Cooper and.Rutherfurd, has enlisted for active service, and has been in camp at .Tauherenikau, whither he returns to'complete, his training before leaving for the front.
