FROM LONDON DIRECT. ■ From London the Sliaw-iSavill mail steamer Corinthic arrived iu the stream at noon yesterday, and berthed at the King's Wharf at 2.25 p.m. The trip out was uneventful. Captain Hart has with him tie following officers Chief, Mr. H. 0. Cater; first, Mr. T. Richardson; eecond, Mr. S. H. Dray; third, Mr. W. Howat; surgeon, Mr. G. Hamilton. Mr. Macdonald Hunter is chief engineer, Mr; A. P. Ryan 6econd, Mr. L. Signess third, Mr. M. Jones fourth. Mr. A. H. Hughes is chief refrigerating engineer, with Mr. W. B. Brown as his assistant. IST'. H. V. Wise is purser, and Mr. E. Masters is chief steward. The Corinthic has put in here to land passengers, mails, and periodicals only, and she will leave at noon to-day , for Auckland, where discharge of Home cargo will be commenced. WERRIBEE FROM "FRISCO. With her decks piled high with timber and her holds full of paper, the HuddartParker steamer Werribee arrivod from.San Francisco and other Pacific Slope ports on 'Saturday afternoon, end .berthed at tho Clyde Quay Wharf. The Werribee left Sydney on September 25 and arrived at San Francisco on October 27. She cleared that Fort on November 2, and proceeded to oweU Elver (8.C.) to. pick up her paper cargo. Calls were also made at Nanimo (for bunkers), and at Port Angelas (for timber), and the latter port was left behind on November 14. On the run down to Honolulu rough weather was experienced, find thence to the Neiv Zealand coast fine, clear weather. Captain L. Thompson is In charge of the Werribee. MANUKA ARRIVES 6 P.M. 'A wireless message has been received from Captain Clift, of the Manuka, stating that he expected his vessel to arrive in port from Sydney direct at 6 p.m. to-day. The vesEel will berth at tho Queen's Wharf. ATHENIC TO LOAD. The White Star liner Athenic will leave Sydney on December 22 for Whangarei, where she is due to commence loading on December 27. Auckland, Napier, and Wellington will then be. visited in that order. The liner is due here on January 6, and will bo dispatched for London on January 10. KAUEI LOADS WOOL. The Union Company's Kauri, the first vessel of the fleet to load wool in New Zealand for America, arrived from Lyttelton yesterday. She will take in her Wellington consignments to-day and to-mor-row. and will then sail for N&pier. Filial departure will be taken from the latter port for San Francisco. MESS-TABLE~GOS,S'IP. Mr. E. Gibson, chief officer of the Kini, having come ashore, Mr. F. Banks has filled the vacancy. Mr. J. ltankine, acting-chief officer of the Mapourika, went south by the Mararoa on Saturday for orders. M«-srs. A. P. Lanty and A. M'Kinnon, mates of the Hawcru. and Mana respectively, have exchanged positions. Captain W» A. Wildman is in charge of the Alexander during the time Captain A. Wildman is away on holiday. Mr. J. A. Cowan lias been engaged as third engineer of the Kahika. Captain Maxwell, who took the Manapouri out East from New Zealand, is now .chief officer of a steamer running between Chinese ports. Mr. G. A. Greenland, assistant purser of the Maori, is under orders to transfer to the Manuka as assistant to-day. Mr. Colvin. late of the head office staff of the Unioa Company, has joined the Maori as assistant-purser. Mr. Cernitty. third officer of the Werribee, now in port, is a nephew, of Mr. J. Cerrutty Jflte chief clerk in the Wellington office of Huddart-Parkcr, Ltd. Mr. W. Mow<it. late of R.M.S. Tonic, is now third officer of Jt.M.S. Corinthic. Mr. Jlacdonald Hunter, also of the Imiic, is now chief engineer of It.M.S. Alheuic. Captain Eitchio took chargc of the Araluira for the run to Lyttelton and back yesterday. A particularly large cargo of motorcars and general cargo, from Montreal, Is being landed from the Ashburton at Jervois Quay Wharf. It is oxpectcd that she will get away for southern ports this evening. Overhaul will he completed to the Alexander to-da.v. and the vessel will sail for Nelson and West, Coast at 5 p.rh. The Kaiapoi, now at Adelaide, will proceed on to Edithburg to load for Tiinaru, [ Lyttclton, and Wellington. With 12,000 cases of bananas, the Union fctcamer Karamii is due at Wellington from Suva to-day. • On her next trip down the the Wakatu will only go as far as Kaikoura and _ Boat Harbour.
