A representative' meeting of the clergy and laity of the Roman Catholk Churoh in the' City and district was ■held yesterday afternoon at , St. Pat rick's Hall, Boulcott Street, to discuss arrangements for according a-' suitable reception to' His Excelloncy the Apos- , tolic delegate, Archbishop Ceretti Archbishop O'Shea, in opening the pro- : oeedings, said that the forthcoming viftjf of the represout-afcivo of the_ .Holy See L in Australasia was an occasion of the highest importance to the catholics ol l New Zealand, and he sincerely hopet that the reception, accorded to His Exc colleiioy by the Metropolitan See of thij country would be worthy of the occasion.
