, LEAVE AND PROMOTIONS AN ADVANCE EXPEDITION Regarding the leave of the Artillery, Engineers, and N.Z.M.C., of the 9th Reinforcements, Trent-ham Camp orders state: "Troops on extended leave will travel south by the ordinary ferry boat on Tuesday, December 21, connecting with ordinary trains to Otago. They will return by the specially chartered steamer Moana, leaving Lyttelton on Sunday, January 2, 1916. Special trains to convey Otago and Southland and South Canterbury men will be ran on\ this date to connect with tho Moana. All concerned must distinctly understand that it is essential for them to travel by this train and the steamer to Wellington, owing to the very heavy traffic at this period of the year. Cases of overstaying leave through failure to comply with this order will be severely dealt with, and concessions will be forfeited. Extended leave ||ir those troops in the North Island will commence on Sunday, December 19, and will .terminate at midnight on Sunday, January 2."
