In one ease 200 Armenians were taken in trucks to a river bank, ancl each truck load was shot. All the Armenian men .were half stripped, tied together, and taken away. Women and girls were distributed in the Turkish villages, the Turks scrutinising and choosing those whom they wanted. A wealthy resident saw his wife and three, daughters taken away. He bccame a raving lunatic. Au eye-witness says: "I counted twenty-one women and children in a hospital lying on the floor in sheer exlikuly to die.
