' A very crcditabla physical and military display by the Technical School Cadets and physical drill class was given in the Garrison Hall on Saturday night, in the prcseuco of a good gathering. Mr. W. Tho boys first went through a physical exercise courso, and followed this with a set of exercises on tho vaulting horse; including two set pieces, after which military physical displays were given. Tho whole performance 'was marked by precision of action and good discipline: After the display, which lasted about twenty minutes, Mr. Allan expressed pleasure at being present, and called upon the director (Mr. W. S. La Trobc) to say a few words. Mr. La Trobe explained that they had a company of about 220 boys altogether, and they had perfect discipline in the Cadet Corp3, while their attendance was tho best of all tho night drilling companies, averaging, as it did, about 95 per cent. They had won a, largo number of cups and a challenge shield for shooting under Liententants Hugo and Voyco, both of whom ho regretted to say had been killed in the Dardanelles. The progress of tho corps had been well maintained under the present officer, Lieutenant Duffy. The boys are getting up a fund for the purpose of erecting a memorial to the late Lieutenants Hugo and Voyco, and they made a collection at tho gathering, tho sum of £2 15s. being subscribed, bringing tho total collections to about £28. The memorial is to be placed in tho present Technical School, and will be removed to tho new, buildings. The physical drill class numbers' about twenty boys, and lliey are very regular in their attendance to the Saturday night ■instruction. A medal donated by Mr. Crane, the father of one of the students, for competition, was won bv his son, Colour-Sergeant. Crane, and this was presented to the boy on Saturday. Colour-Sergeant Crane also presented to Lieutenant Duffy, on behalf of tho boys, a cold-mounted walkingstick, as a slight exoression of theTr esteem and rcgard_ for him, and in recognition of the time lie has gratuitously spent, _ou training 'them. A very enjoyable evening concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
