RESOURCES OF THE COUNTRY

.. — 9 ORGANISATION CONTEMPLATED. By Telegraph—Press Association. . Auckland, December 13"""The Hon. A. M. Myers says ho lias besn receiving applications from employers engaged in the manufacture' <?f military supplies to release certain of their employees from service. The attitude ho took was that overy encouragement should he given to the employment of those of non-military age or who had not passed the medical test, thus freeing those capable of doing their duty in tho presont time. "Wo liavo now reached a stage," continued Mr. Myers, "in which the question of policy that is' to be pursued in regard to our industries has to be faced. It is often thought that New Zealand's position is such «s to cast upon her the responsibility of ' supplying the United Kingdom with produce such as meat, cheese, aild butter to enable her to feed her vast armies, and the industries whose wholo resources are being cc-sted have to he considered in this conncctioii, as well as those yho are catering for military : supplies to the Defence Forces of New Zealand. The information is now before the Government, and will enable it to deal with the whole situation .with a view to organising tho whole resources of the country."
