ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS
'A meeting of the Roseneath and Oriental Bay Ratepayers' Association was held last night, Mr. T. W. Ward presiding.
A number of letters were received from the City Council, replying to re- ■ quests made by the association. The council regretted that they were 'unable to erect a waiting shed at the bottom of Grass .Street, at the present time, but tliey had acceded to the request for two seats at the foreshore, near the bottom of the street. Regarding the application for bathing sheds at Ballona Bay, a reply was received stating that a sum had been placed on the 'estimates for the work, and it would be put'in hand as soon as labour was available, lie City Engineer also hoped to be able to proceed with the Oriental Bay esplanade wall in a very short time. ' The • association had written "to th<» council , regarding the damage done to the road' on the way from Roseneath Terrace to Grafton Road, and a reply was received stating that the council had decided .to have the roadway put in a proper, state of repair. , AVork was also being started on the constniction of footpaths. The: association's request that the old post and rail fence should be removed, and an up-to-dato fence crected, was acknowledged .by the Town. Clerk, who stated that the letter had not yet ,been beforo the council. Jt was decided to write to the'council asking that . the . roadway from Hay Street to tbo loopline on the last stop at Oriental Bay should be put in repair, and-also, requesting that tlip.for.c-. shore should cleaned ug.
