SOUTHERN HAKKHCS. ■ By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, December 7. During the past few days there has been considerable Inquiry .for wlioat on the part of southern South Island millers, and 60me sales have been 'made out of store at price 3 equal to about ss. at country stations ; at the same time there is practically no wheat offering by growers. There is also an unusually brisk demand for flour. The price of wheat has advanced further in Australia, a,nd is quoted there at ss. 3d. f.0.b.; flour has also advanced ss. per ton. The reason for the advance in Australia Is tho firming of the London wheat market.
There is more inquiry for oats than for some time past. In consequence 'of the continued dry weather it is realised that the cats crops will suffer to a greater extent thaa wheat.
