THOSE BALANCE-SHEETS
• THE POSITION TO-DAY. The Department of Internal Affairs had not rccciveil last night the two balance-sheets required from the Wellington Patriotic Society covering tho transactions of Carnival Queen committees. Tho Hon. (}. AV. Hussell informed a Dominion reporter that Mr. Lewis, secretary of the .Patriotic Society, liad reported in a letter to the Department that the two Carnival Quccm committees that liacl not yot returned their accounts were Dr. Plaits Mills's Committee, which consisted of two sections— n Citizen's, Committee and tbo Tramway Men's Committeo—and the committoo supporting tho Sports candidate, Tho statement is made that' tho accounts and papers of both these committees aro in tho hands of the auditor (Mr. K. A. Hunt).
