AN ALLEGED LOTTERY
A SECRETARY PROSECUTED. , (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 3. In the Magistrate's Court, John Thomas Lee, secretary of the Licensed Victuallers' Committee in connection with the Queen Carnival, was charged with having sold a ticket m respect of a' lottery or scheme prohibited by the Gaming Act. The lottery was to be determined >by tho result of the Auckland Cup, though pictures, were nominally the prizes offered. An application for an, adjournment was granted the. defence to secure evidence from Wellington;
