—♦ An enjoyable coucorfc was given last ■night to the men in port by Mrs. T. E. Jones, at tlio Sailors' Friend Socicty, when the frequent encores testified to tho keen pleasure of the guests. Tlio vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary pieces/ wore ehoson with much taste. Mr. Moore, missioner, spoke on the temperance question, urging his hearers to look at matters from a patriot's point of view. Tlio competitions gave much pleasure. A voto of thanks was given to tlie hostess, the Misses Jones (8), Dodds, Chapman, and Messrs. Walker,' Thomson, and Cate. ■ . ' '
