General Cadorna (the Italian Commander-in-Chief), reports: "Repeated Austrian counter-attacks on tie heights north-west of Gorizia did not prevent us from consolidating the captured positions. "The fighting on the Carso Heights yesterday increased in severity along the ridge descending from the northern slopes of Monte San Michele towards the Isonzo. The enemy made a sudden assault and captured the ridge, but our men retook the position and finally consolidated it." ' , AUSTRIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. . , . ' London, November 26. An Austrian official communique states: "There was fierce fighting dav and night between 'Mouth Vieppach and San Martino. The Italians repeatedlv entered our positions north of Monte San Michele, but were ejected." , (Rec.
