LOCAL MONEY MARKET. . ' The "N.Z. Trado Review," isued ■ yesterday, writing on the money.market, says:— There is., little fresh to report on money , matters since our last issue: Splendid evidence of the buoyancy of the local market and the amplitude of funds available was given in the highly-successful. flotation. of the' Government £2,000,000 local loan, applications for neaxly double the amount required beiag received. The amount thus raised will not cause any • shortage of funds for genpral purposes for some time, if at • all, ■ as financial institutions have a plentiful Supply of funds in hand, and] prospects for the immediate future aro very bright in. this direction. Tho export season has opened most auspiciously—dairy produce is in excellent demand at very profitabe rates, extremely high, prices have been pai'd for wool at the opening sales,
and frozen meat seems likely to continue very remunerative also. We may, therefore. look forward to another successful season and a oonacquent further influx of funtfs into the oountry, which will Ucsip money plentiful and maintain the general prosperity of the community.
