Sprang in .the House of Commons, Mr. _ Byrne, in requesting the exemption of Ireland in the event of conscription being introduced, declared that conscription would bo resisted by drilled and armed forces.' Mr. .Asquith deprecated the threat, and said that he could not enlarge upon his previous statements.
