PERMITS TO TRAVEL
FOUR APPLICATIONS REFUSED.

Auckland, November 23. xiiere wer& about sixty applications for permits to travel to Stydney by tlie Riveniia, which leaves to-day. So far forty-five permits have been issued and four refused, being ot men of military age, who could not give a valid reason for wishing to leave. Memorandum from the Under-Secretary for Defonce states that after this week it will take seven or ten days for a permit to be granted, but in esses of necessity application can be mado to Wellington by telegraph.
