The "penny dreadfuls" of old times were now shown in picturo form. He admitted that it was a thorny question, and he thought tho Minister should have some power to censor tho films. He moved that tho Mayor sTiould attend the conference. Councillor Faire seconded tho motion, and said that thev should do all they coifld to" forward £he matter. _ . Councillor Raino said that this agitation for censorship was going on in different parts of the world, and there was no doubt about it that some censorship was needed. He did not often attend the pictures, but on one. occasion he saw things that were very suggestive. The motion that the Mayor should attend the conference was carried.
