SUIT AGAINST THE. CORPORATION,

In the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, before His Honour Mr. Justice Chap mall, and a jury cf twelve, hearing was commencod of a civil action, in which Alfred Goodbehere, builder and contractor and professional vooalist, proceeded against tho City Corporation to recover tho sum of £550. as damages ill respect of injuries sustained in a tram accident on August 12, 1015. Mr. M. Myers appeared for the plaintiff, while Mr. J. O'Sliea, City Solicitor, appeared for tho Corporation. In his statement of claim, Goodbeliere alleged that on August 12 last he was pushed off a moving car in Willis Street by the conductor of the car, and that be . received injuries, which, in addition to causing severe nervous and physical strain, would interfere with his career as a' vocalist. :

The defence was a denial that the conductor of the car had in any way been responsible for the accident' to Goodbehere, the Corporation saying that if Goodhehere had suffered the injuries. alleged that it was due to liis own negligence in alighting from tho car while it was in'motion. As the evidence had not concluded last nigbt, the Court adjourned. until this morning.
