TUBERULOSIS REPORT
FIGURES FOR THE MONTH.
The tuberculosis medical officer (Dr. Basil Adams) reported to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday that lie had examined '40 now patients at tlio dispensary, and there had been 49 attendances of old patients. Fortvthrce persons had called or 'phoned for information, and he had paid 11 visits to patients in their homes in Wellington, two 111 Lower Hutt, and paid one visit to the> Lppcr Hutt. Ho had visited the Seodon Annexe patients twice weekly, and had also examined four patients in the General Hospital, three of whom he I 7 x r suffering from tuberculosis ; and transferred to the Scddon Annexe! H.O supplied the following figures— . Scddon Annexo.—Number of patients 111 residence, September 30, 25- admitted during October, 6; discharged during October, 4; died during October 1; 111 residence, October 31, 20. . Otaki Sanatorium—Number of patients 111 residence, September 30, 22- admits during October, 2; discharged to Otaki Hospital, 2; _ discharged durin* October, 9; in residence, October 3L 13. Of the nino patients discharged, five men had their disease incompletely arrested, and were fit for work, three men and one woman left with the disease unproved, but they were not fit for work. Total number of persons examined October, 1915, 47; previous six months' 293. Number found to be suffering from tuberculosis, October, 1915, 12; previous six months, 144.
