ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
WELL-KNOWN BOXER INJURED. Early yesterday afternoon the steamer Victoria, lying at .Tervois Quay Wharf, was tho scene of a.n accident. While working near one of the liaWhes. a coal worker inmed W. Elliott, residing off Taramki Street, was struck by. one of the coal baskets, with the result, that he fell into the .hold. In falling, Elliott struck a case with his head, and sulfored painful injuries, especially about the jaw and shoulder, Elliott was removed to the Hospital, and it is reported that his injuries not of a very serious nature. The injured man is well known in hoxinq; circles under the name of "Billy" Elliott.
