PATRIOTIC EXHIBITION
STALLS OFFERED AT AUCTION. At the rooms of tho Central Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon the stalls in the British Commercial and Industrial Patriotic Exhibition, to be held in the Town Hall from February 19 to 26, were submitted to auction Tjy Mr. F. Townsend. 111 somo cases there had been more than one application received for certain in which case tho bidding.was restricted to those applicants. The following stalls were sold: A 7, Radium Polish Company, £15 10s.; Al3 and Al-1, Dunlop Rubber Company, £14 each: 821, John Chambers, £(i lis. 3d.; 81, Guthrie and Co., £6 12s. Cd.; AD and 10, British General Elcctric Company, £10 10s. each; Als, S. Smith and Son. £9 10s.; C 3, E. A. Christie, £-1 155.; C 4, Wellington Farmers' Meat Co., £i 155.; 88, Edward Collie, Ltd., £9 12s. 6d. About thirty other stalls were submitted (each having an upset price on the plan), without finding purchasers. At the conclusion of thg sale, Mr. L. A. Edwards announced that there were at leas.t twenty' exhibitors wanting stalls, so that 110 hoped those requiring spaco would not hang back until it was too late. Ho expressed the thanks of tho committee to Mr. Townsend for his services as auctioneer. It should bo understood that tho stalls will be handed over to oxhibitors with tho woodwork erected and provisional draping supplied free of cost. Tho excellent plans provided were the work of Mr. E. T. Dodclrell, who is to supervise the. erection of tho stalls for the committee.
