GALLIPOLI DAY
. . ■ NEXT SATURDAY. Whilst hundreds of the younger sports of tho City are away doing their duty at the front,'the older hands are at work doing their part at home —doing their bit to provide comforts for their hoys who are in the firing lino at Gallipoli. For some time past lists havo been in circulation and already a very creditable sum is in hand to fulfil the object in view, i.e., to provide all our boys with gifts for Christmas. A special effort is to lm mado on Saturday next, "Gallipoli ODay." The assistance of the ladies has again been invoked.* Flowers and badgos are to bo sold in the streets. More flowers aro urgently wanted, and tliose friends having gardens are requested to send them along to the Mayoress on Friday afternoon' or evening to' the Town 'Hall, On Saturday afternoon at the Basin Reserve a splendid programme will be presented by the men. The items_ are numerous and varied, and a. strict lino has been drawn in that all the events are right away from the usual events held at sports meetings. Full details of the programme . will be given in a. special advertisement that will appear in our next issue.
