Downie Stewart have qualified by examination for appointment to commissions. It is the intention of tho field officers' mess to give a farewell dinner to the officers of the Bth Reinforcements at 6 p.m. on AYednesday, at the mess room, Trentliam.' A concert is to follow at 7.30 p.m., and supper at 10.30 p.m. Arrangements have been made for a special train at 11.30 p.m. from Trentbam to AYellington. Officers' wives and friends are cordially invited to the concert, dance, and supper. RETURNINC TO THE WAR.
