' 'Brigadier-General Sir Andrew Hamilton Russell, A.D.C., loft New Zealand . in commaud of the Mounted Rifles Brigade of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Ho was promoted to the rank .of Brigadier-General at Gallipoli, in company with other brigade commanders, in ..October of 1914. He was. previously Territorial Commander of the Wellington Mounted Brigade—a Territorial Staff Command. .. Lieut.-Col. John Findlay, of the Ist ■ Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry : Cavalry)was in command of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles Regiment when the Expeditionary Force left' for tho front. ,_Lieut-.-Col. Charles Mackie Begg, New Zealand MedicaL Corps, is a wellknown AYellington doctor, who lias given much time and energy to his duties as Principal Medical Officer, Wellington Military District Command. Major J. H. AYhyte, N.Z.S.C., left as second ;n command of the Wellington Mounted Rifles Regiment with the Main' Expeditionary Force. Prior to that he was Brigade-Major to the Wellington. Mounted Rifles Brigado with Headquarters at Palmcrston North. He .was ono of the first lour officers to be : sent to England from New Zealand for training with the Imperial Forces. Major Charles Brown belongs to the New Zealand Staff Corps. • - i Capt. Beck is, or was, with the Ordnance arm of the Expeditionary Force. Major Robert Young of the 9th (Hawke's Bay) Regiment, commanded tlid Hawke's Bay Company of the Wellington.' Battalion. Lieut. George Raymond Blackett, of the 10th (Nelson) Mounted Rifles, went away with the Nelson Squadron of the Mounted Rifles Brigade. Lieut.
