Rumanian (or Wallachian) is one of tho Romance languages—tho general name for those modern languages that are'the immediate [ descendants of tho languages of ancient Rome. The language differs slightly in different parts of the country, like the north and south of England.
The "Presse lledicale" reports an obscure act of heroism on the part of tho inhabitants of Lyons, who, without hesitation, offered their own blood for transfusion to the wounded. The first to offer himself out of some 150 volunteers was a celebrated doctor. For the last six months women, too, have been devotedly' offering their blood. Many wounded have thereby been saved.
