The Dutch Admiralty announces that It is constructing two cruisers on plans supplied by a German. The Vulcan Yard, the Krupp Proprietary, and foreign firms have Been 'invited to send in plans. English firms have replied that it is impossible for them to tender in the present circumstances. CERMAN MUNITION SHARES. ON THE DOWN GRADE. ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) London, November 5. Shares in German munition works are dropping down on the German Stock Exchange. ' WORK OF BRITISH CLOTH MILLS. ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) (Rec. November 6, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 5. ' The cloth mills of the United Kingdom have supplied twenty-four million yards of uniform cloths to the Allied troops since the war began. SHIPB COMMANDEERED. BY TSE ADMIRALTY. (Rec. The "Financial Times" states that the Admiralty has acquired control of 800 ocean-going steamers, approximately 22 per cent, of the British'tonnage engaged m overseas trade. - Probably-the number trill be raised to 900 in the near future. NORMAL FLOW OF TRADE. : COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY. (Rec. November 7, 11.5 p.m.) London, November 6.' Mr. Asquith has appointed a committee, with Lord Inohcape as chairman, to inquire into congestion at ports and docks and regulate the working of the traffic to prevent interference with the normal flow of trade.
