HEMP & TOW GRADED

The Department of Agriculture forward a return showing the quantities of hemp, tow, and stripper slips, graded at tlio ports of the Dominion during the month of . October.

Tho total number of hales of hemp graded was 12,297, as compared with 6033 for the corresponding month ot last year, an increase of 6264 bales. For tho twelve months ending October 31 the number of bales graded was 106,100, as compared with 113,710 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 7685 bales.

During the month 3167 bales of tow wero dealt, with,, as compared with 1746 for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 1421 bales. For the twelve months ending October 31, 1915, the number ,of bales graded was 28,217, as compared -with 35,902 for the previous twelve, months, a decrease of 7685 hales.

During the month tho number of bales of stripper slips graded was 546, as compared with 108 for tho corresponding month of last year, an increase ,of 438 bales. For the twelve months ending October 81, 1915, the number of bales graded was 2761, as compared with 2807 for the previous twelve months, a decreaso of 46 bales.
