The Mongolia's New Zealand passengers includo Messrs. Wilson, Thomson, Myers, M'Lean, Mills, Lieut.-Colonel Loath, Mrs. Thomson, Misses Bingham and Banchor. TALUNE LEAVES SUVA. Auckland, November 3. A cable message from Suva received today states that the Ta-lune has sailed for Auckland. 'FRISCO SERVICE ALTERATIONS. Consequent upon the withdrawal of R.M.S. Marame from the San Francisco service, an alteration lias been made in the running bv which two steamers only will be engaged, and Wellington will be made tho terminal port this end instead of Sydney. The new time-table was practically inaugurated yesterday with the arrival of the Mdrama frozi San Francisco. She has transhipped her Sydney cargo to the Moeraki. The new outward running will be commenced with tho Moana, which is 6ci'cdulcd to leave Wellington on November 11. The Maitai, leaving San Francisco on November 10, will arrive here on Dc- . cenibcr 2, and will take her departure again on Dccembbcr 9. The Moana and Maitai will maintain the service in the future.
MARAMA FROM SAN FRANCISCO. R..M.S. Marama, -which arrived, at Wellington from San Francisco yesterday, had an uneventful run down from the Calilornian port. Included in the vessel's cargo was the foUowing:—s2 barrels and 68 cases oil, 47 cases and 633 kegs paint, 6E6 packages roofing, 61 packages rubber hose, 2700 boxes prunes, 6EO boxes apricots, 2CO boxes peaches, 40 boxes figs. 4525 boxes, apples, 7778 hoses raisins, 600 boxes salt, 1430 cases canned goods, and 84 packages periodicals, and a nuanitiy of Island fruit. Altogether the cargo for Now Zealand totalled 1C35 tons.
The Ifarama .is timed to sail to-day for Diincdin in order to bo fitted u>p as the second hospital ship.

MOKOIA OMITS HOBART. On account of having been delayed at Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup, the Mokoia will leave tho Victorian port to-day for southern ports and Wellington, thus omitting the usual call at Hobart. She is timed to leave here on November 13 for Hobart and Melbourne. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. W. N. O. Wilcox, of the local office of staff of the Neiv Zealand Shipping Company, has enlisted, and has been accepted for service with the artillery brauch of the Tanth. "Reinforcements. Mr. W. N. Glover has been engaged as assistant purser of tho Moeraki. Mr. A. S. -Sadgrove has joined the Monowai as assistant purser in place of Mr. W. N. Glover. Mr. A. R. Thompson, who for two years has been purser of It.M.S. Niagara, and prior to that was well known as.purser on the San Francisco mail, steamers, left the Niagara at Auckland on Monday with the intention of awaiting «- call to join the non-commissioned officers' training corps at Trentham. Captain Colin Macdonald marine superintendent fojr the Union Company, was in Wellington yesterday. Captain Bone, marino superintendent for the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived from the south yesterday morning. Mr. Broadley, second engineer of -the Ngakuta-, been compelled ,to como ashore at Wellington owing to ill-health. Ho went south by the Maori last evening.
A telegram lias been received by tho local office of the V* ion Oomipauy stating that the Kara was at Port Hardy yesterday makine temporary repairs to. her engines to enable her to go on to Nelson for permanent repairs. The Union Company's Waihemo, bound from San Francisco to Wellington, left Suva- on Tuesday evening. She is duo here next Tuesday, November 9.
A steamer named tho Wcrribee has been fixed to load lumber at- Pacific Slope ports for Wellington this month. To-morrow . the Melbourne Steamship Co.'s Perth is to load at Newcastle for Wellington, where she is due towards the end of next week.
The C. and D. liner Star of Scotland is reported to have broken a record for vessels of lier class between -Sydney and Auckland, when she averaged 13 iinotß for the run across tho Tasman Sea.
It is announced that the Barber Line h»vo chartered a steamer named the Jethou, 4284 tons, to load at New York for Australian and New Zealand ports. Mr. G. H. Scales has chartered the steamer Dalmore to follow tho Hobburn on the wool-loading berth in New Zealand for London.
Under charter to the New Zealand Shipping. Company, tho flhaw-fiaviLl liner Kumara is expected to leave Canada for Australian ana New Zealand ports about January 25. Auckland should be made about the end. of March next. The Waiwora is due to sail from Canada about November 30 for the same ports. She is due in these waters about February 10.
Tho Pakeha wa6 to have left Liverpool on October 31 for Australian ports. She will load Homewards in tho. Dominion commencing about December 31. The Shaw, Savi.ll and Albian Company's new steamer Rara-nga has been fixed to leave London on December 11. New Zealand should be reached about January 22. A projected departure from Melbourne for London yesterday was the Shaw-Savill liner Matatua. The vessel is en route from New Zealand ports, having left Napier on October 7. The Home liner Delphic, which arrived at London on September 22. is, expected to leave Liverpool for Australian ports about November 15. After discharging on the "other side," tile Delphic will come across to load for Home about January 25.
