Tho report of the Bank of Australasia for the half-year to April 12 last states that, after providing for rebate on bills current, for British and Australasian rates and taxes, and after making provision for bad and loubtful debts and other contingencies, the net profit for the half-year amounted to £208,778. -To this sum must be added .-0)14,575 brought forward from the previous half-year, making a total of £323,353, out of which the directors have declared a dividend for the half-yeaj at the rate of 14 per cent, per annum, or £2 10s. per share, and a bonus at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum, -or 12s. per share, together £3 Bs. per'share; free of incomo tax. The dividend and bonus will absorb £170,000, and the directors bare further appropriated £40,C00 to tho reserve fund. There will then remain £113,353 4s, lid. to be carried forward.
