OBITUARY
LEWIS WALLER, THE ACTOR. By Ttlesroph—l'ross Association—Copyright (Rec- November 2, 8.40 p.m.) London, November 1. The death is recorded of Mr. Lewis Waller, the well-known English actor. Deceased had been suffering from pneumonia. TMr. Lewis Waller, who was one of England's leading romantic actors, was born in Bilbao, Spain, in 1860. He made his first appearance on the stage with the late J. L. Toole in "TTncjo Dick's Darling," in London, in 1883, ami was subsequently associated with most of tile leading players and managements of England, and was the original of many notable roles in modern plays. He was !>■ famous Hotspur in "Henry IV." and was considered the best Henry V since George Rignold. He was the original of "Monsieur Beaucaire." Mr. Waller visited Australia Inst year, nlaying "A Butterfly on the Wheel," "Henry V." "A Marriage of Convenience." _ "Monsieur Beau, caire," and "A Fair Highwayman."] REV. NEHEMIAH CURNOOK. (Rec.
