RASH ALLEGATION WITHDRAWN
COLONIAL SOLDIERS SLEEPING ON THE EMBANKMENT.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopy rieht (Rec. November 2, 8.40 p.m.) London, November 1. An Englishwoman, who is a correspondent to a London nowspaper, who originated tho statement that Australian and New Zealand soldiers were sleeping out on the Embankment, owing to the delay in receiving their pay, has informed the High Commissioner that, after full inquiries, she is convinced that the allegation was untrue. ■Scotland Yard states that no Australian or New Zealand soldier has ever been seon without shelter.
