GENERAL BIRDWOOD
CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE dominion: On Friday His Excellency the Governor sent a telegram to Lieut.-General Birdwood, at Gallipoli, conveying congratulations on behalf of himself, tha Government, and tlio people of Now Zealand on his promotion. His Excellency has received the following reply from Anzac: "Mv most grateful thanks to.yon and your Gov- ' ernment for your very kind congratulations. (Signed) General Birdwood."
