THE SYDNEY BOAT. From Sydney direct the Ulimaroa is duo in Wellington this morning. She will berth at the Queen's Wharf to land 310 passengers and 750 tons of cargo. AEAWA FOR LONDON. ! At daybreak on Wednesday, October 27, the Shaw-Savill R.M.S. Arawa will leave the Glasgow Wharf for Loudon. Passengers are requested to have their baggage alongside the steamer by 2 p.m. to-morrow, and tliey must embark to-morrow evening. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain Broadhouse, who is well-known as a master in the employ of the Canterbury Steamship Company, and who has been acting-surveyor of ships at Auckland, has joined the .staff of the local Superintendent of Mercantile Marine. Mr. D. A. Butler, purser of tile Mapourika, has come ashore. Mr. G. Falla, second engineer of tho Mararoa, having rejoined his ship, Mr. F. Naithsmith has come ashore. Mr. -W. A. CJairns, of Wellington, has signed on the MaTaroa as fifth engineer. Mr. Cordy, chief officer of _ tho Koromiko, who has been on a short visit to the south, I has rejoined liis ship. Mr. P. Hickey, late chief engineer of the Pateena, has transferred to the Mokoja in a similar capacity, in place .of Mr. Richmond, who has gone to Duncdin for orders. I Mr. T. G. From Port Chalmers the New Zealand Shipping Company's ICaikoura. goes on to Tokomaru Bay, Gisboj-ne, and Napier. Wellington will next be visited, and departure taken for Home oil November 18. The four-masted schooner E. B. Jackson is due to arrive at Dunedin about the end of this month with a of Oregon pine timber from the Pacific Coast. At 6.10 a.m. yesterday tho Shaw-savill liner Karamea left Auckland for Wellington. She is running under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company from Motrea!, and will arrive early tomorrow morning. The C. and I). liner Star of Australia will land London cargo at the King's Wharf to-morrow morning. As to-day is a wharf holiday, the PoJoona (from south) will not work cargo. About 600 tons will be landed here to-morrow and departure taken for northern ports during the aftcrnoon-a day late. Timber will bo brought to Wellington tlliß week by t.he Union st-camcr Karu. Having taken in the required amount of bunker coal tho Chalister left port at 8 a.m. Oil Saturday in continuation of her journey from Newcastle to -Monte Video and tiio United States.

The C. and D. liner Mimiro, which'arrived here on Saturday to pick up a- quantity of dairy produce, left for London, via Australia, yesterday. morning.
