KOKORORO LIGHTING SCHEME

A meeting was held at Kora-Koro recently (Mr. W. H. Long presiding) at which matters in connection with tho lighting of Koro-Koro and Manugaraki were considered. It was > unanimously resolved "That this meeting of-house-holders is of opinion that tho loport of the Petouc borough engineer, as published, is unsympathetic to the'scheme, and considers that the alternative scheme of power from the pumping station, as promised by the Mayor (which power is now lying dormant), should have been submitted. The following committee was appointed to further tho question of lighting either by electricity or gas:—Councillors Jones and Forsyth, Messrs. Scroggs, Jensen, Long, Hopplestou, Fleet "Blacker, Galliers, Lawrence, Wilson, Pomlre.v. A. Jones, Flux, and Crnmpton. Messrs. Long and Fleet we're appnintod chairman and secretary respectively. , A sub-committee was sot up to canvass tho district and the. general committee will attend the next mooting of the. I'etone Council.
