BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORSASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the Wellington Building and Contractors' Association was held this week.- The report and, balance-sheet revealed ' that the association is in a flourishing condition, and that the interests of the building trade are being well cared for by the officers and committee. An innovation lias been the renting of a room in the National Mutual Buildings for tho exclusive use of master builders. * The election of officers resulted as follows President, Mr. H. Mainland; vicepresident, Mr. J. C. Brown; treasurer, Mr. A. Johnstone; committee, Messrs. A. M. Wilson, W. EL Bennett, and P. C. Watt; auditors, Messrs. W. I. Clarke and W. Parkins; delegates to animal conference of the New Zealand Federated Builders and Contractors' Association, Messrs. H. Mainland, W. L. Thompson, and A. Campbell. It was announced that tho latter meeting would bo held in Wellington on November 2. As delegates will ue iu. attendance from other centres, it is expected local builders will be present to accord them a welcome. The secretary of the Technical School Board submitted the suggestion of the proposed Building Trades Board of Control, which was approved. It was resolved that tho president of tho Builders' Association should bo the master builders' representative on the board. .
