—5 — A PATRIOTIC EXHIBITION. The special committee set up by the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce acting in l conjunction with the Wellington Industrial Association met on Tuesday) and t decided matters of detail connected with the proposed exhibition. Mr. L. A'shcroft Edwards was in tho chair, and there were prosent: Messrs. J. F. Atkins, E. T. Doddrell, F. J. Evans, E. Bull, H. H. Read, and L. T. Wntkins. It was decided that the exhibition open on February 21, 1916, and close on February 26 at the Town Hall, Wellington. It was reported that special issues by the principal daily papers would most likely ho made during exhibition week. \ - Tho hours during which the exhibition would be open were fixed as 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. daily. The'matter of hours during which 'school children ■would attend was deferred 1 to a later meeting.

A very complete ground plan of the IWn Hall, prepared by Mr. E. T. Doddrcll, and showing tho proposed allocation of space for stalls, was submitted and approved, Mr. Doddrell receiving a hearty vote of thanks for the completeness of the plan and arrangsmeuts tuggestcd. Estimates of expenditure_wero prepared totalling a sum of £350, whilst the revenue was estimated at £400. . There will be no charge to the public for admission, and all expenses incurred will be borne by the exhibitors based on tho space rate taken up. .Plans are to be prepared immediately and circulated amongst exhibitors that tliey may select the spaco desired. and decide whether thoy 'are to pay tho upset pric-o 'fixed, after which a meeting of exhibitors will lie . called and the spaces sold at the best price offering by the exhibitors. A seal for use by exhibitors on their correspondence was decided upon, and stops'are to bo taken to approach tho Postal Department to allow a franking of postages. The tea' room privilege is In bo tendered for at a later date, and the committee will reserve to.itself tho privilege of printing and 1 issuing a catalogue for exhibitors' use, the whole of the advertising proceeds therefrom to bo spent in printing the production. A further meetina: of the committee will be held on Wednesday evening next to arrange for a meeting of exhibitors early in November.
