ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.

Palmerston N., October 18. -Pitt was charged with stealing, £317 in gold from Hum Jvee. lie police gave evidence that accused had been employed by the Chinaman, who had the money locked in a box. A sum of £267 in gold was identified by the Chinaman. _ It was wrapped the- same as the missing money, and was found in a t;runk deposited at another residence by accused. Accused was committed' for trial.
