MUNICIPAL GOLF

A meeting was held at No. 1 Committee Room, Town Hall, last night to consider means of assisting tlio City Council to make a success-of tho venture in municipal golf. Dr. R. A. Cameron presided over an attendance of about a dozen people, includiug Councillors G. Frost, R. A. Wright, and W. J. Thompson. After a good deal of preliminary discussion, it was decided that those present should form a committee, to _be called together as occasion should arise, Mr. James M'lutosh to bo secretary pro tem Mr. E. J. Hyams promised a donation of a dozen Challenger balls as a prize for a handicap tournament, to be arranged by the well-known professional, Mr. Watt. The links will 'probably be opened on October '30 with a suitable ceremony, and a contest between leading players.
