Most of that ( had;been done inadventently, and tliey; lioped overcome the difficulty by inducing those men to become members of the association, and they were not likely to refuse when they found that they , were being ?hut o£ from doing business; Referring to the affairs of the Dominion Association, the president said that it. had been quite impossible to get the amending Bill through this session; though the Prime Minister had seemed to agree ■with'them. They liad'pointed out that as the Government charged them fees for licenses it was only right thai, they (the Government) should protect them. Next session they hoped, to be able to do something. : _ The balance-sheet showed the association to be in a fairly satisfactory position. / ' Mr. H. M. M'Leod suggested that a circular letter might be issued, to members half-yearly, giving a resume of the business done.

Mr. A. Wilson referred to the good work which had been done so far. He suggested that means should be taken of "showing agents in country districts the advisability of joining the, association '
