With a view to attracting visitors to the very excellent • exhibition o£ pictures on view at the Art Gallery, Wnitmore Street, the council of the Academy have decided to open the exhibition free, today and to-morrow to any purchaser of a shilling art union ticket, which' can bo obtained at the door. . The full value of the tickets sold will be drawn at the gallery on Thursday evening, and winners are allowed to select their own prizes As the great majority of the' beet pictures are unsold, there should be many tempting prizes offered "to the winners.

Pounds (Wellington); study from still life in oil or water-colour, D. Lynch (Palmerston North); study of head; from life in oil or water-cilour, 'E. Keyworth (Wellington); study of head from life in charcoal or crayon, F. W. M'Kellar (Dunedin) and E. Keyworth (Wellington), tied; landscape or marine study from nature, in oil or water-colour, E; Thompson (Dunedin); study of head in round, M. Green (Wellington); a piece of jewellery, designed and executed by exhibitor, — Still (Wellington).
