Wedding at Pctono. The wedding took place at St. David's (Presbyterian) Church, i'etoue, yesterday, of Miss Margaret Howio M'Leod, eldest daughter of Mr. John M'Leod, Petono, to Mr. Ricliard Clark, son or Sir. Adam Clark, of Larkhall; Scotland. The Rev. A. Bruce Todd performed tho coremony. Tho bride was given away by her father, wore a white .embroidered silk dress, with a veil tyid orange, blossoms, and was httendod by Miss Minnie F. M'Leod (sister to the bride) and little Miss Alice G. Kyle, niece to the bridegroom, both bridesmaids wearing white embroidered silk. The bridegroom's gift to the. brido was a cheque. Mr. David M'Leod :was best man and Mr. John M'Leod groomsman. After tlie ceremony, a reception was held at the Buick Street Hall. The bride's mother wore black silk cloth and a hat to mattch. The bride travelled in a mole-coloured costume, and hat to match. St. John Ambulance Work for Hospital Ship. On September 16 a. highly successful bulb show,and sale of work, organised by the local branch of tlio Plunket Nurse Society and Red Cross Society, was held .at Mangaweka. in aid of the Wounded Ssldiers' Fund. The committee aimed at raising £300. That the proceeds totalled £681 odd speaks volumes for the generosity of the ueoplo of the district and the good work of the members of the two societies that carried tlio show to such a successful issue, and especially to Mrs. H. C. Wilson, : the president o'f the Plunket Nurse Society. The. day was beautifully fine, and visitors v were present from all parts of tile district; In. the absence of tlio member? for the district, Mr. E.-Newman,- the show was formally opened by Mr. James Georgetti. . The exhibition of flowers was very fine, and it has encouraged the promoters to decide to make .the bulb "show, an annual function.'"Mrs. Jas. Georgetti has donated a rose bowl for competition, the conditions being that it must be won three times at intervals or twice*in succession;" ''

Mrs. Hanan, wife of the Hon. 'J. A. Hanan, Minister of Education, arrived in Wellington on Monday.
