ONSLOW AFFAIRS

At the meeting of the Onslow Borough Council to-morrow evening Councillor J. G; Smith will move:—

(a) That the engineer be instructed to report on the feasibility of providing access from the Khandallah railway platform to main road by means- of an overhead briugo across the line, and right-of-way from samo.to main road, in vicinity of Mr. W. Aplin>s,property. (b) That the engineer be instructed to report on the feasibility of providing direct- access from the Khandallah railway platform to the junction of Station and Izard Roads (opposite Mr. Budd's) by means of a Tight-of-way.' That in view of the fact that tho erection of tho proposed new Central Railway Station for Wellington is likely to be indefinitely, postponed, this council arrange thnt a deputation wait upon the General Manager of Railways to urge upon him the urgent necessity of running all Manawatu suburban trains to the Lambton Station. That all local bodies affected be invited to send a representative, and that, the members of Parliament for tho Suburbs, Manawatu, Palmerston North, and other country electorates . interested, together with tho City members, be asked to co-operate.
