Adams); 11 Otama, 9st. (A. Lawrence). . At the first hurdle Dyana and Hinemanu fell heavily. Negative lead Scorch,. King's Guard, and Sensitive past the stand. Sensitive ran oft' across the back and Cyra and Prince Eddie set out after the leaders. Scorch drew lip to Negative anil took the last fence ahead of tho rest of the field, cantering home an easy winner by four or five lengths. Tho topweight wore down Negative alonj the straight and got home a length ahead. Cyra'was fourth, and Prince Eddie fifth. Time, 2min. 17 2-ssec. Brodie broke through, the barrier ana bolted for six furlongs. Gold Shot was ; Erst out, with Pearlform and Strabo close up. These throe led into the straight. The favourite and Strabo moved ahead Ijry inches,-the former winning by a long neclc, Gold Shot being a head away. Hymen, Surtax, Crossswords, Sinora. Mummer and Montana' changed places across the back 'and Marco Beilo dropped back at the country bend, giving way to Red Book. Midnight Star came through at the home bend and with Montana forged ahead of Red Book. Montana won by a length, half' a length separating second and third. Approaching tho home bend the field closed up, and the two leaders gave way to others, but Rouraania maintained his advantage, winning by a length. St. Omer showed up Or. the outside half-wny down the straight, but could not overtake the .leaders. Whakahoki was half a length behind Carillon. Hikahakeke was fourth, and Belgian Maid fifth.
