The weather was fine and tho going fast for tho opening of the A.J.C. Spring Meeting at Randwick. Diavolo was a favourite for the Hurdles and scored a popik lar win. Wallace Isinglass was considered a certainty for the Derby, and was flattered"by his supporters to tho distance,, but was unablo to stall off Cetigne's resolute' challenge, the latter scoring amid the greatest excitement. Woorak and Garlin were equal favourites for the Epsom, but the latter ran disappointingly and finished fourth. AVoorak jmictically led .throughout and finished strongly. His was a popular win.
