Mossts. Dalgcty , and Co. report:—At the clearing sale held in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co;, on account of Messrs. A. C. Lange and J. Corlett, at Aorangi, there was a good attendance ol buyers, and competition was keen throughout' the sale. Quotations :— btore cows and heifers, to £4 2s. 6d.; backward and three-quarter cows, £5, £5 10s., £5 156., £6 155., to £7; fair cows'in milk, £8 10s., £8 155., £9, £9 155.; good cows in milk, £10, £10 ss„ £10 15s„ £11 155., £12 ss„ £12 7s. 6d; to £13 155.; good springing cows, £8 15s.- to £9 15s. The whole herd, in-, eluding backward and three-quarter cows, average £9 6s. 6d. Bulls, £2; seven-year mare, £17 145.;- more and foal, £8 10s.; mixed hoggets;-235. 7d. A largo quantity of : sundries sold at highest market rates. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At Apiti, on Tuesday, we' had a-small entry of sheep and a fair ■yarding of cattle. Bidding at auction -was Black, and a number of pens were passed in. The following prices were realised:— Medium -hoggets, 18s. 6d. to 215.; yearling steers, £2 9s. 6d.; 15-month Jersey, heifers, £2 165.; heifers in calf, £4; springing heifers (good), . £8; forward cows, £6; store cows, £4 10s. to £4 135.; cows in calf, £5 ss. to £5 14s. At Feilding, on Friday, we had ■ a- fair entry of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle.' Sheep were in good demand, and. cattle met with better competition than at last sale. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.,. report on their Feilding sale on Friday We had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle/ all stock sold freely, and we practically cleared the yard under the ham-, mer.' On Wednesday, for my Waiwakaiho horse . fair, horses were yarded right up to the ex-. pected numbers, -and buyers were present from all parts of the district. Any horsea with weight met with, good bidding,- good spring' carters selling up. to £34 10s. .-for young horses, but the light horses were not inquired for. Taken right through the sale was quite-satisfactory. . At Stratford, on September 28, there was a fair entry of cattle, for which I had a good inquiry, but owing to the exceedingly heavy rains falling early ,in : the .afternoon the later part of the sale was considerably affected . by the,'weather, a. good number having to: be "passed, but good sales were effected by private, treaty. Competition on all good.conditiohed cattle was exceptionally. keen, and-also on two-year empty heifers.
