ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
. TWO INQUESTS. Two" inquests were held by the City Coroner (Mr. D. G." A. Cooper, S.M.) yesterday afternoon. Ono of these concerned tho death of a seafaring man, named Frank Warelin. The evidene? showed that deceased had boon employed on tho Union Company's collier Ko'romiko. While tho vessel was lying at tho Mirnmar Wharf on tho night of September 10, Warelin fell down ono of tho holds. Ho was killed • instantly through fracturing his skull. A verdict was returned accordingly. Tho other inquest had t0.,d0 with the death of a flaxmill hand, jiamed John Mackenzie, who was found dead in bed in. a house where he had been lodging in Dixon Street. Death, according to tho medical evidence, was 'duo to acuta enlargement of tho hoarfc, and the Coroner's verdict; was to this effect.
BULLET WOUND IN THE HEAD. A middle-aged mail, named Fred Buttorworth, a resident of Petone, was admitted to the Hospital at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon suffering from a bullet wound in the head. The injury is believed to havo beon self-inflicted.
