NAVAL AND MILITARY SPORTS
The: members of the Now Zealand training ship; Amokura, .H.M.S. Torch,. and No. 2 Compahy (Kilbir'nie-HataitaiV SenioV Cadets,' with' their' drum and bugle baud, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs.Eggers at their residence, Karaka Bay, on Saturday afternoon., Mr. H. M'Leod, Chief Scoutmaster, Mr. T. AY. Hislop, Lieutenant R. H. Nimmo, 0.C., Lieut.' F. N. C. Smith, Staff-Sergeant-Major Pollard, the officers of the Amokura, Torch, and also several returned ..wounded troopers were' present. On arrival at the bay, refreshments were served by tho ladies.' Afterwards, the sports programme was carried out. Amokura beat No. 42 Company at tug--of-war b? winning two pulls . out of three. 7 - At, Association .football ~, the' Cadets evened matters beating Amokura by's goals to nil. : Following' the football there;were running races, after which tea was' sgrved. ~Thb oiitiug, was very much enjoyed by. all. present.- >
