Mr. Harry Hennah ("Harry Linden") and his wife (Miss Ida Berridge), who have'been touring South Africa and tho' English provinces, are at present in Ireland, but. shortly return, to fulfil engagements in London music halls. Mr. Hennah is a member of the Holbora Battalion for Home Defence. He is a son of Captain W. H. Henna,!!, of Wellington, and nephew of tho late Hon. R. JVSeddon. . ~ • '
The District Officers of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows, Grand Master Wylie,' Deputy-Grand Salek and Corresponding Secretary Godber, accompanied by P.G.M. Bro. Madeley, paid ail official visit to the members of the Greytown. Lodge of Oddfellows last week. On the question of new members at the present timo owing to so many goinji to the war, it was pointed out that if. a man joins and pays a quarter's subscription and then went to the front and became injured or killed, tho Order would be responsible for all claims, and the question arises as to whother tho Lodge should accept members at the present time. The Board of • Directors, it was report"!*}, after, considerable consideration and discussion, had decided to recommend —but this , was not... mandatory—that members be not now admitted.' The matter was left for the 8.M.0. to deal with at Easter. •
