ADMINISTERING PATRIOTIC FUNDS
AUCKLAND DECISION^

Auckland, September -23., A decision was arrived at to-day by the Executive of the Auokland Provincial Patriotic. and War Itelief Association in regard t-o its attitude to the nationalisation proposals submitted #by the second conference of patriotic societies held in. Wellington recently. The following report submitted by a subcommittee was adopted:— "Your sub-committee has considered the amended report of the conference, and is, of opinion that the same is not substantially different to the first proposals, it" therefore- recommends that no action be taken, but that rlie promoters be again advised tluifc this association is prepared to be represented on the Dominion Advisory Board to be set,, up for the purposes indicated in : your'committee's report of August 19, 1915." As a result of the Patriotic Association's decision not to approve of the nationalisation-of war funds, the donation of the New Zealand Insurance Company of £7500 for the wounded soldiers will be divided as follows:— Auckland, £3000; Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, £1000 each.
